Available in numerous colours and looks toggle switches find wide use is electrical appliances. Such switches are usually used to activate many electrical contacts on a single click. It also finds wide use in controlling big amounts of electricity and sometimes even the main voltage of electricity. You might have already related to the word toggle but to be precise it refers to a combination of two arms connected via a pivot which looks similar to an elbow. However, there has been a recent change in the use of this term as now snap actions have also started being referred to as toggles. Positive snap actions may or may not be based on toggle mechanism but they are off late known as toggle switches. .
